On 10 July the OECD published their new report "
Mainstreaming Biodiversity for Sustainable Development". The report highlights examples of good practices and ramaining challenges in 16 megadivers countries.
The countries examined cover all income groups, from Australia and France with high incomes to low-income countries such as Ethiopia and Madagascar. The report examines how biodiversity is being mainstreamed in four key areas: 1) at the national level, including national development plans and other strategies, institutional co-ordination and national budgets; 2) the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors; 3) in development co-operation; and 4) the monitoring and evaluation of biodiversity mainstreaming and how this could be improved.
From 10-12 July the OECD
Global Forum on the Environment: Mainstreaming Biodiversity for Sustainable Development took place in Montreal, Canada. Policy-makers and experts shared experiences and insights on biodiversity mainstreaming at the national level and across key sectors. The Forum provided a platform to share good practice insights from national governments and international organisations, among others.
